Hall Effect Study of the Metamagnetic Transition in the Sr₄(Ru_0.99Fe_0.01)₃O₁₀ Nanosheet

Sr₄(Ru_0.99Fe_0.01)₃O₁₀ shows a ferromagnetic (FM) transition at T_C ~ 105 K with the magnetic easy axis in the ab plane, followed by a metamagnetic transition (MMT) at low temperatures when the magnetic field H is applied along the c axis, which is in sharp contrast to that of the pure Sr₄Ru₃O₁₀, where the easy axis is along the c axis and the MMT is in the ab plane. Here, we studied the MMT in the Sr₄(Ru_0.99Fe_0.01)₃O₁₀ nanosheet by the Hall effect. Quantum phase transitions and decoupling of magnetic sublattices in the quasi-two-dimensional Ising magnet Co₃V₂O₈ in a transverse magnetic field

We study the application of a magnetic field transverse to the easy axis, Ising direction in the quasi-two-dimensional kagome staircase magnet, Co₃V₂O₈, induces three quantum phase transitions at low temperatures, ultimately producing a novel high field polarized state, with two distinct sublattices. New time-of-flight neutron scattering techniques, accompanied by large angular access, high magnetic field infrastructure allow the mapping of a sequence of ferromagnetic and incommensurate phases and their accompanying spin excitations. Also, at least one of the transitions to incommensurate phases at μ₀H_c1~6.25 T and μ₀H_c2~7 T is discontinuous, while the final quantum critical point at μ₀H_c3~13 T ismore » continuous.« less

Long-Time Variation of Magnetic Structure in (Pr_xLa_1-x)Co₂Si₂: Coexistence of Slow and Fast Processes in Magnetic Phase Transition

In this paper, long-time variations of the magnetic structure in PrCo₂Si₂ and (Pr_0.98La_0.02)Co₂Si₂ were studied by magnetization and time-resolved neutron scattering measurements. The amplitudes of magnetic Bragg peaks showed marked time variations after cooling or heating across the magnetic transition temperature T₁ between two different antiferromagnetic phases. However, the amplitude of the time variation decreased rapidly with increasing distance from T₁. Finally, we analyzed the results on the basis of a phase transition model that includes the coexistence of fast and slow processes.
