Phenomenological study of the process [ital e][sup +][ital e][sup [minus]][r arrow][mu][sup +][mu][sup [minus]][nu][sub [ital l]][bar [nu]][sub [ital l]] at high energy [ital e][sup +][ital e][sup [minus]] colliders and measurement of the [ital ZWW] and [gamma][ital WW] couplings

We perform a detailed study of the process [ital e][sup +][ital e][sup [minus]][r arrow][mu][sup +][mu][sup [minus]][nu][sub [ital l]][bar [nu]][sub [ital l]] including all contributions. The contributions other than from real gauge boson production lead to a rich phenomenology. We explore the use of the process as a means of precision measurement of the [ital ZWW] and [gamma][ital WW] vertices. Measurement of the W{sup +}W{sup -} Production Cross Section and Search for Anomalous WW{gamma} and WWZ Couplings in pp Collisions at {radical}(s)=1.96 TeV

This Letter describes the current most precise measurement of the W boson pair production cross section and most sensitive test of anomalous WW{gamma} and WWZ couplings in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The WW candidates are reconstructed from decays containing two charged leptons and two neutrinos. Using data collected by the CDF II detector from 3.6 fb{sup -1} of integrated luminosity, a total of 654 candidate events are observed with an expected background of 320{+-}47 events. The measured cross section is {sigma}(pp{yields}W{sup +}W{sup -}+X)=12.1{+-}0.9(stat){sub -1.4}{sup +1.6}(syst) pb, which is in good agreement with the standard modelmore »« less
