Collider prospects for the muon $g - 2$ in a general two-Higgs-doublet model

Recent progress on muon g – 2 measurement prompts one to take it even more seriously. In the general two Higgs doublet model that allows extra Yukawa couplings, we take a simplified approach of single enhanced coupling. We fix the charged lepton flavor violating coupling, ρ_τμ = ρ_μτ, via the one-loop mechanism, for illustrative masses of the heavy scalar H and pseudoscalar A, where we assume m_A = m_H+. Since extra top Yukawa couplings are plausibly the largest, we turn on ρ_tt and find that LHC search for gg → H, A → τμ gives a more stringent bound than from τ → μγ with the two-loop mechanism. Turning on a second extra top Yukawa coupling, ρ_tc, can loosen the bound on ρ_tt, but LHC constraints can again be more stringent than from B → D_μν versus Deν universality. This means that evidence for H, A → τμ may yet emerge with full LHC Run 2 data, while direct search for τ^±μ^∓bW⁺ or tmore »« less

Enhancement of W{sup {+-}}H{sup {+-}} production at hadron colliders in the two Higgs doublet model

We discuss the associated W{sup {+-}}H{sup {+-}} production at the CERN large hadron collider. The dependence of the hadronic cross section on the Higgs sector parameters is investigated in detail in the framework of the general two Higgs doublet model (THDM). We study the possible enhancement of the THDM prediction for the cross section compared to the prediction of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We find regions in the THDM parameter space where the THDM prediction can exceed the one of the MSSM by 2 orders of magnitude. The pairwise production of neutral Higgs bosons (h{sup 0}A{sup 0},H{sup 0}A{sup 0}) is analyzed in the context of the future linear colliders, such as the ILC and CLIC, within the general two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). The corresponding cross sections are computed at the one-loop level, including the full set of contributions at order O({alpha}{sub ew}{sup 3}) together with the leading O({alpha}{sub ew}{sup 4}) terms, in full compliance with the current phenomenological bounds and the stringent theoretical constraints inherent to the consistency of the model.
