Matter bounce cosmology with a generalized single field: non-Gaussianity and an extended no-go theorem

We extend the matter bounce scenario to a more general theory in which the background dynamics and cosmological perturbations are generated by a k -essence scalar field with an arbitrary sound speed. When the sound speed is small, the curvature perturbation is enhanced, and the tensor-to-scalar ratio, which is excessively large in the original model, can be sufficiently suppressed to be consistent with observational bounds. Then, we study the primordial three-point correlation function generated during the matter-dominated contraction stage and find that it only depends on the sound speed parameter. General self-tuning solutions and no-go theorem

We consider brane world models with one extra dimension. In the bulk there is in addition to gravity a three form gauge potential or equivalently a scalar (by generalisation of electric magnetic duality). We find classical solutions for which the 4d effective cosmological constant is adjusted by choice of integration constants. No go theorems for such self-tuning mechanism are circumvented by unorthodox Lagrangians for the three form respectively the scalar. It is argued that the corresponding effective 4d theory always includes tachyonic Kaluza-Klein excitations or ghosts. ABS>Use of a quantum field theory obeying parastatistics to treat free particles is further examined. Relativistic quantum field theories independent of locality are noted to hold for paralocal fields, and the TCP theorem is generalized to paralocal fields. The following generalization of the connection of spin and statistics is demonstrated: given the choice between parabose and parafermi statistics, integral spin flelds must obey parabose, and odd halfintegral spin fields must obey parafermi statistics (D.C.W.)
