We develop a technique, denoted as the finite radius approximation (FRA), that uses a two-dimensional version of the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem to determine transverse densities and their uncertainties from experimental quantities. Uncertainties arising from experimental uncertainties on the form factors and lack of measured data at high Q{sup 2} are treated. A key feature of the FRA is that a form factor measured at a given value of Q{sup 2} is related to a definite region in coordinate space. The transverse charge density of the pion is studied based on a realistic effective Lagrangian approach, where the pion is regarded as a quark-antiquark pair-bound state. Graphene oxide-Fe{sub 3}O{sub 4} nanoparticle composite with high transverse proton relaxivity value for magnetic resonance imaging

The potential of graphene oxide–Fe{sub 3}O{sub 4} nanoparticle (GO-Fe{sub 3}O{sub 4}) composite as an image contrast enhancing material in magnetic resonance imaging has been investigated. Proton relaxivity values were obtained in three different homogeneous dispersions of GO-Fe{sub 3}O{sub 4} composites synthesized by precipitating Fe{sub 3}O{sub 4} nanoparticles in three different reaction mixtures containing 0.01 g, 0.1 g, and 0.2 g of graphene oxide. Direct production of photons with large transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions. [Realistic jet structure]

The direct production of photons with large transverse momentum is examined in a modified quark-fusion model which incorporates a realistic jet structure. The model, which accounts well for the pion data, predicts a sizable yield of direct photons.
