Next-to-leading order chiral perturbation theory of K{pi}{yields}{pi} and K{yields}{pi}{pi} amplitudes

It is shown that the low energy coefficients of the next-to-leading order chiral perturbation theory needed to determine the physical {delta}I=1/2, K{yields}{pi}{pi} decay amplitude can be fixed by calculating K{pi}{yields}{pi} amplitudes on the lattice. Unlike using next-to-leading order K{yields}{pi}{pi} amplitudes proposed by Laiho and Soni, simulating K{pi}{yields}{pi} transitions on the lattice does not require evaluations of s-channel disconnected diagrams which have been an obstacle in practice.

The decay pi{sup 0} {yields} gamma gamma to next to leading order in Chiral Perturbation Theory

The pi{sup 0} {yields} gamma gamma decay width is analyzed within the combined framework of Chiral Perturbation Theory and the 1/N{sub c} expansion up to order(p{sup 6}) and order(p{sup 4} x 1/N{sub c}) in the decay amplitude. The eta' is explicitly included in the analysis. It is found that the decay width is enhanced by about 4% due to the isospin-breaking induced mixing of the pure U(3) states. This effect, which is of leading order in the low energy expansion, is shown to persist nearly unchanged at next to leading order. Baryon chiral perturbation theory up to next-to-leading order

We examine the general Lagrangian for baryon chiral perturbation theory with SU(3) flavor symmetry, up to the next-to-leading order. We consider both the strong and the weak interactions. The inverse of the baryon mass is treated as an additional small expansion parameter, and heavy fermion effective field theory techniques are employed to provide a consistent expansion scheme. A detailed account is given on the restrictions imposed on the Lagrangian by the various symmetries. Corrections due to the finite baryon mass are also discussed.
