Description of analyzing power and (p,n) reaction by a global dispersive coupled-channel optical model potential

A global dispersive coupled-channel optical model potential is used to analyze the proton elastic/inelastic analyzing power data and (p,n) data in order to investigate the prediction power of this potential. The numerical calculations show good agreement with available experimental data for proton elastic data and overall agreement for proton inelastic data. The results also showed that present global potential is approximately Lane-consistent, and can predict well the (p,n) cross sections.

Optical-model potential in single-nucleon-transfer reactions induced by heavy ions

Elastic scattering angular distributions were measured for /sup 48/Ca + /sup 16/O at 56 MeV and for /sup 45/Sc + /sup 15/N at 47.53 MeV. Extensive searches and systematic analyses of the optical-model potentials were performed to study ambiguities. Various potential sets that fit elastic scattering were used in distorted-wave Born approximation calculations of single-nucleon transfers. To a high degree the optical potential ambiguities that exist for elastic scattering persist for the transfer predictions. Interfacial electron-transfer reactions in colloidal semiconductor dispersions. Kinetic analysis

A kinetic model is presented describing interfacial electron-transfer reactions in colloidal semiconductor dispersions induced by an ultrashort light pulse. The three elementary steps considered are (i) diffusion of charge carriers from the particle interior to the interphase, (ii) encounter-complex formation, and (iii) interfacial electron transfer. The first process is shown to occur so rapidly in colloidal particles that it does not contribute to the overall kinetics of the charge-transfer event. Mass dispersion in transfer reactions with a stochastic mean-field theory

Nucleon transfer in symmetric heavy-ion reactions at energies below the Coulomb barrier is investigated in the framework of a microscopic stochastic mean-field theory. Although mean field alone is known to significantly underpredict the dispersion of the fragment mass distribution, a considerable enhancement of the dispersion is obtained in the stochastic mean-field theory. The variance of the fragment mass distribution deduced from the stochastic theory scales with the number of exchanged nucleons. Therefore, the new approach provides the first fully microscopic theory consistent with the phenomenological analysis of the experimental data.
