Modular cosmology is plagued by overproduction of unwanted relics, gravitinos and especially moduli, at relatively low energy scales. Thermal inflation provides a compelling solution to this moduli problem, but invalidates most baryogenesis scenarios. We propose a simple model in which the MSSM plus neutrino mass term (LHu)2 is supplemented by a minimal flaton sector to drive the thermal inflation, and make two crucial assumptions: the flaton vacuum expectation value generates the {mu}-term of the MSSM and m{sub L}{sup 2} + m{sub H{sub u}}{sup 2} < 0. Affleck-Dine dynamics, Q-ball formation, and thermalization

We present both analytically and numerically a consistent analysis of the dynamics from the Affleck-Dine (AD) mechanism to the subsequent semiclassical evolution in both gravity-mediated and gauge-mediated models. We obtain analytically the elliptic motions in the AD dynamics as the analogy of the well-known Kepler-problem, and by solving the equations of motion on a lattice, we find that the semiclassical evolution goes through three distinct stages as a nonequilibrium process of reheating the Universe: prethermalization, bubble collisions and thermalization. Affleck-Dine baryogenesis, split supersymmetry, and inflation

It is shown that, in the context of split supersymmetry, a simple model with a single complex scalar field can produce chaotic inflation and generate the observed amount of baryon asymmetry via the Affleck-Dine mechanism. While the inflaton quantum fluctuations give rise to curvature perturbation, we show that quantum fluctuations of the phase of the scalar field can produce baryonic isocurvature perturbation. Combining with constraints from WMAP data, all parameters in the model can be determined to within a narrow range.

We argue that, in the Affleck-Dine mechanism, baryonic isocurvature fluctuations are generated in most inflation models in supergravity. The inflationary scale and a reheating temperature are constrained in order not to induce too large baryonic isocurvature fluctuations. In particular, high-scale inflation models with high reheating temperatures are disfavored in this context.

Dark matter from Affleck-Dine baryogenesis

Fragmentation of the Affleck-Dine condensate into Q-balls could fill the Universe with dark matter either in the form of stable baryonic balls, or LSP produced from the decay of unstable Q-balls. The dark matter and the ordinary matter in the Universe may share the same origin.
