Systems consisting of identical bosons with a large scattering length satisfy universal relations determined by 2-body physics that are similar to those for fermions with two spin states. They require the momentum distribution to have a large-momentum 1/k{sup 4} tail and the radio-frequency transition rate to have a high-frequency 1/{omega}{sup 3/2} tail, both of which are proportional to the 2-body contact. Identical bosons also satisfy additional universal relations that are determined by 3-body physics and involve the 3-body contact, which measures the probability of 3 particles being very close together. Low-Energy Recombination of Identical Bosons by Three-Body Collisions

The threshold recombination coefficient for three bosons whose two-body scattering length a is positive and large compared with the nominal range of the potentials is shown to proceed via a crossing of hyperspherical adiabatic potential curves at R[approx]2.6a . The hidden crossing theory gives a simple expression for the rate in terms of the scattering length and a phase [Delta] . A time-dependent multiconfigurational self-consistent field theory is presented to describe the many-body dynamics of a gas of identical bosonic atoms confined to an external trapping potential at zero temperature from first principles. A set of generalized evolution equations are developed, through the time-dependent variational principle, which account for the complete and self-consistent coupling between the expansion coefficients of each configuration and the underlying one-body wave functions within a restricted two state Fock space basis that includes the full effects of the condensate's mean field as well as atomic correlation. Collisions between Tunable Halo Dimers: Exploring an Elementary Four-Body Process with Identical Bosons

We study inelastic collisions in a pure, trapped sample of Feshbach molecules made of bosonic cesium atoms in the quantum halo regime. We measure the relaxation rate coefficient for decay to lower-lying molecular states and study the dependence on scattering length and temperature. We identify a pronounced loss minimum with varying scattering length along with a further suppression of loss with decreasing temperature. Our observations provide insight into the physics of a few-body quantum system that consists of four identical bosons at large values of the two-body scattering length.
