Hyperpolarized K-{sup 3}He comagnetometers have been used for tests of fundamental physics and inertial rotation sensing. These experiments will demonstrate increased sensitivity if the {sup 3}He buffer gas is replaced with {sup 21}Ne. We measure the parameters necessary to realize implementation of an alkali-metal-{sup 21}Ne comagnetometer for two promising alkali-metal species, Rb and K. Interaction-Driven Dynamics of {sup 40}K-{sup 87}Rb Fermion-Boson Gas Mixtures in the Large-Particle-Number Limit

We have studied effects of interspecies attraction in a Fermi-Bose mixture over a large regime of particle numbers in the {sup 40}K-{sup 87}Rb system. We report on the observation of a mean-field driven collapse at critical particle numbers of 1.2x10{sup 6} {sup 87}Rb atoms in the condensate and 7.5x10{sup 5} {sup 40}K atoms consistent with mean-field theory for a scattering length of a{sub FB}=-284a{sub 0}. For large overcritical particle numbers, we see evidence for revivals of the collapse.
