Exact time-dependent quantum mechanical dissociation dynamics of I2He: Comparison of exact time-dependent quantum calculation with the quantum time-dependent self-consistent field (TDSCF) approximation

The vibrational predissociation dynamics of a collinear model of the I2(v)He cluster is studied by numerically exact time-dependent quantum mechanics, and by the time-dependent self-consistent field (TDSCF) approximation. The time evolution for the initial excitation levels v = 5, 11, 22 is explored. Excellent agreement is found between the TDSCF and the exact evolution of the wave packet; in particular the approximation reproduces well the dephasing events in the dynamics, and the measurable predissociation lifetimes. The results are very encouraging as to the applicability of quantum TDSCF as a quantitative tool in the study of van der Waals predissociation dynamics.

A global analytical potential energy surface for the ground state of H{sub 3}{sup -} has been constructed by fitting an analytic function to the ab initio potential energy values computed using coupled cluster singles and doubles with perturbative triples [CCSD(T)] method and Dunning's augmented correlation consistent polarized valence triple zeta basis set. Green's function for the time-dependent scattering problem in the fractional quantum mechanics

We study the Green's function of the time-dependent 3D space-fractional Schroedinger equation for the scattering problem in the fractional quantum mechanics. The Green's function is expressed in terms of Fox's H-function and in a computable series form. We get the asymptotic formula of the Green's function, and apply it to obtain the approximate wave function for the fractional quantum scattering problem.

Quantum-mechanical evaluation of the Boltzmann operator in correlation functions for large molecular systems: A multilayer multiconfiguration time-dependent Hartree approach

It is shown that the Boltzmann operator in time correlation functions for complex molecular systems can be evaluated in a numerically exact way employing the multilayer formulation of the multiconfiguration time-dependent Hartree theory in combination with Monte Carlo importance sampling techniques. The performance of the method is illustrated by selected applications to photoinduced intervalence electron transfer reactions in the condensed phase. Furthermore, the validity of approximate schemes to evaluate the Boltzmann is discussed.
