Radiation amplitude zeros have long been used to test the Standard Model. Here, we consider the supersymmetric radiation amplitude zero in chargino-neutralino associated production, which can be observed at the luminosity upgraded LHC. Such an amplitude zero only occurs if the neutralino has a large wino fraction and hence this observable can be used to determine the neutralino eigenstate content. We find that this observable can be measured by comparing the p{sub T} spectrum of the softest lepton in the trilepton {tilde {chi}}{sub 1}{sup {+-}} {tilde {chi}}{sub 2}{sup 0} decay channel to that of a control process such as {tildemore »« less

Supersymmetric electromagnetic moments and radiation zeros

The radiative corrections to the electromagnetic moments of the charged gauge fermions and bosons (W and W) of the vector superfields are studied in unbroken supersymmetry. We find that supersymmetry does not force such corrections to vanish as it does for the charged spinor members of chiral supermultiplets. The implications of these results for radiation zeros are discussed. We present a proof of a radiation interference theorem for processes involving the emission of a massless gauge fermion (photino) from interactions between members of chiral superfields, and derive the conditions for radiation zeros to exist.

Zeros in amplitudes: gauge theory and radiation interference

It is found that any complete single-photon tree amplitude has a general canonical form which vanishes in certain kinematical zones provided that any derivative couplings are as prescribed by gauge theory. The location of these zones depends only on the external charges and momenta. Their occurrence is based on classical radiation interference that is a generalization of the well-known absence of dipole radiation by particles with the same charge-to-mass ratio. Weak-boson amplitude zeros are explained.

Electric dipole moment of the W boson and the radiation amplitude zero

The effect of an electric dipole moment (EDM) of the {ital W} boson is studied in the radiative decay {ital W}{sup {minus}}{r arrow}{bar u}d{gamma}. It is shown that the radiation amplitude zero which is present in this process provides a sensitive test of the possible compositeness of the {ital W}. The two possibilities, a large EDM ({lambda}{ge}1) and a significant magnetic moment ({kappa}{ne}1) can in principle be distinguished.
