We study the stochastic resonance of quantum discord (''discord resonance'') in coupled quantum systems and make a comparison with the stochastic resonance of entanglement (''entanglement resonance''). It is found that the discord resonance is much more robust against dephasing noise and thermal effects than the entanglement resonance. We also show that, unlike the entanglement resonance, the level of dissipation at which the discord resonance occurs is not sensitive to dephasing noise. These results suggest that it is easier to detect the discord resonance in actual experiments, where the dephasing noise and temperature are difficult to control.

We investigate the phenomenon of double sudden transitions in geometric quantum correlations for a system consisting of a bare qubit and a qubit locally coupled to its finite-temperature heat environment with an Ohmic spectrum in the framework of stochastic description. Moreover, we explore the possibility of protecting the geometric discord between the two qubits and prolonging the time during which the geometric discord remains constant by applying Bang-Bang pulses.

Quantum stochastic resonance in the strong-field limit

Numerical path integral calculations are performed to study the behavior of a dissipative two-level system driven by a strong monochromatic oscillatory field. It is shown that the population of an initially localized state displays persistent high-frequency oscillations at weak dissipation and low temperature. The oscillation amplitudes exhibit intricate patterns as the field parameters are varied. The observed behavior is an extension of the quantum stochastic resonance phenomenon outside the weak-field regime.

Quantum stochastic resonance

We demonstrate that stochastic resonance, where an increase in the noise acting on a nonlinear dynamical system increases the signal-to-noise ratio describing the response to periodic driving, can occur in quantum systems as well as classical ones. We show that quantum stochastic resonance can be observed experimentally by measuring conductance fluctuations in mesoscopic metals and describe the experimental parameters for which it occurs.
