A GROUP OF I&E URANIUM CORES WERE CLAD BY SOLID DIFFUSION OR HOT PRESSURE BONDING PROCESS. IN THIS PROCESS A LAYER OF NI WAS PLACED BETWEEN THE AL AND URANIUM. THIS NI LAYER PREVENTED THE DIFFUSION OF THE AL INTO URANIUM AND FURNISHED A LAYER OF METAL CAPABLE OF LIMITED DIFFUSION WITH BOTH AL AND URANIUM
