TRANSITION-METAL COMPOUNDS WERE STUDIED. INCREASED GRAPHITE DENSITIES AND A HIGHER ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY RESULTED FROM USE OF FE2O3, NI2O3 AND CRCL3-6H20. IMPROVED STABILITY TO RADIATION-INDUCED DIMENSIONAL CHANGES APPEARS TO RESULT FROM USE OF ADDITIVES.
