Description/Abstract:
SEVERAL TESTS WERE MADE WITH CARBON STEEL, TWO AL ALLOYS (X-8001 AND A-288), ZRY-2 AND STAINLESS STEEL TO DETERMINE THE TENACITY OF THE FILMS FORMED ON THESE SPECIMENS IN HI-TEMP, NEUTRAL PH WATER. STUDIES INDICATE THAT LOOP SYSTEMS COMPOSED OF SS OPERATING WITH HI-TEMP, NEUTRAL PH COOLANTS WOULD BE LESS PRONE TO CRUD BURST PROBLEMS THAN SYSTEMS COMPOSED OF THE OTHER MATERIALS.
