Description/Abstract:
REACTIVITY MEASUREMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE IN PCTR ON A SERIES OF PU-AL RODS 0.65-INCH DIAMETER AND 31.00-INCHES IN LENGTH. THE SERIES CONSISTED OF 8 SETS OF 2 RODS EACH. TWO SEPARATE BATCHES OF PU WITH DIFFERENT ISOTOPIC COMPOSITIONS WERE USED IN THE 2 RODS WITHIN A SET. THE CONCENTRATIONS WERE ADJUSTED IN SUCH A WAY THAT (1) THE 2 RODS WITHIN A SET DIFFERED EFFECTIVELY ONLY IN PU-240 CONTENT AND (2) THE ROD WITH THE MOST PU-240 IN ONE SET HAD THE SAME PU-240 CONTENT AS THE ROD WITH THE LEAST PU-240 CONTENT IN AN ADJACENT SET.
