PROJECT CHARIOT IS THE PROPOSAL TO CREATE A HARBOR NEAR CAPE THOMPSON ON THE NORTHWEST COAST OF ALASKA BY NUCLEAR DETONATION. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO KNOW THE ECOLOGICAL STRUCTURE PRIOR TO THE TEST. UPON COMPLETION OF STUDIES IN 1960, A REPORT COVERING ALL OF THE PRE-ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES WILL BE COMPILED AND PUBLISHED BY THE AEC DATA WILL PERMIT THE MINIMIZING OF EFFECTS OF DETONATIONS UPON THE BIOTA OF THE AREA, AND INDICATE THE TYPES OF ECOLOGICAL STUDIES WHICH SHOULD BE CONDUCTED FOLLOWING THE CHARIOT DETONATIONS OR SIMILAR TEST
