Description/Abstract:
ZR AND MB ARE ADSORBED ONTO A 7MM DIAM X 10 CM LONG COLUMN OF DOWEX-1, X-4, 100-200 MESH RESIN FROM AN HF SOLUTION OF FISSION PRODUCTS. THE RESIN IS COUNTED DIRECTLY USING A 3" NAL(TL) WELL CRYSTAL AND A 7 SCINTILLATION SPECTROMETER. YIELDS OF GREATER THAT 99.5% WERE OBTAINED. ACIVITY LEVELS OF RU-106, CS-137, AND CE-144 ARE REDUCED BY MORE THAN 95%.
