SUMMARY OF ATTEMPTS TO ESTIMATE THE EXTENT OF DEVIATION FROM UNIFORMITY OF THE FUEL TO MODERATOR RATION WITH RESPECT TO TIME AND POSITION IN THE REACTOR, AND THE EFFECT OF THESE DEVIATIONS ON REACTOR OPERATION. RESULTS ARE BASED ON FLUIDIZATIOIN DATA FOR 3/8 AND 3/4" STEEL SPHERES IN 6 AND 9" COLUMNS, SUPPLEMENTED BY EXISTING LITERATURE FOR SMALLER, LIGHTER PARTICLES.
