DESCRIBES EXTRUSION TECHNIQUES FOR FABRICATING HIGH DENSITY UO2 FUEL CORES. RODS WITH DENSITIES GREATER THAN 93% OF THE THEORETICAL WRE FABRICATED FROM MCW "PWR GRADE" UO2 AND FROM UO2 REDUCED FROM HANFORD DEPLETED UO3. A DENSITY OF 96% OF THEORETICAL WAS OBTAINED WITH EXTRUDED "CERAMIC GRADE" UO2 POWDER HAVING A SURFACE AREA OF 2.0 M2/G.
