Description/Abstract:
A GAMMA-RAY SPETROMETRIC SYSTEM OF ANALYSIS OS DESCRIBED FOR THE QUANTITATIVE MEASUREMENT OF NA-24, SC-46, CR-51, MN-54, MN-56, CO-60, CU-64, ZN-65, AS-76, BA-140, AND NP-239 IN REACTOR EFFLUENT WATER. THE MEASUREMENTS CAN ALL BE MADE ON THE RESIDUE FROM THE EVAPORATION OF A SMALL EFFLUENT WATER SAMPLE. THE ANALYSES ARE BASED ON A COMBINATION OF GAMMA-RAY AND CONCIDENCE GAMMA-RAY SPECTROMETRIC TECHNIQUES, AND NO CHEMICAL SEPARATIONS ARE REQUIRED. THE APPLICABILITY OF GAMMA-RAY SPECTROMETRY FOR ROUTINE USE IS DISCUSSED AND A ONE MONTH RADIOISOTOPIC ANALYSIS OF HAPO EFFLUENTS IS INCLUDED.
