STUDY OF CORROSION OF ALUMINUM IN HIGH PURITY WASTER IS ORGANIZED AS FOLLOWS: (1) BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF HANFORD FACILITIES USED FOR CONDUCTING TESTS; (2) EFFECTS OF NEUTRON FLUX ON AL CORROSION; (3) EFFECTS OF THERMAL FLUX ON AL CORROSION; (4) EFFECTS OF WATER QUALITY ON AL CORROSION (5) COMPARISON OF CORROSION RATES IN STATIC AND FLOWING SYSTEMS THESE STUDIES ARE AIMED AT DETERMINING THE LIMIT OF APPLICATION OF ALUMINUM CLADDING ON FUEL ELEMENTS IN HIGH TEMPERATURE, HIGH PURITY RECIRCULATING WATER SYSTEMS.
