Description/Abstract:
IT IS BELIEVED THAT SLUGS RUPTURES ARE BEING CAUSED BY HI WATER TEMPERATURES BETWEN PROCESS TUBE RIBS. THE TUBE RIBS IN SOME OF THE OLDER TUBES ARE WORN DOWN SO THAT THE FLOW ANNULUS IS DECREASED, WITH HI WATER TEMPERATURES RESULTING. EVIDENCE SUPPORTING THIS VIEW IS PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED. IT IS RECOMMEDED THAT PROCESS TUBES IN WHICH THIS TYPE OF SLUG RUPTURE OCCURS REMOVED,
