Description/Abstract:
GLASS-COATED HEATERS WERE RESISTANT TO THERMAL SHOCK, MILD MECHANICAL SHOCK, AND BOILING 60% NITRATE ACID. HEAT TRANSFER OF 60-100 BTU/HR, SQUARE FEET, FAHRENHEIT WAS LOWER THAN 185-273 BTU/HR, SQUARE FEET, FAHRENHEIT SHOWN BY ALL STAINLESS STEEL HEATERS. ETCHING IMPROVED HEAT TRANSFER BUT WEAKENED RESISTANCE TO SHOCK AND CORROSION.
