THIS DOCUMENT PROVIDWS A SIMPLE MEANS FOR CALCULATING TOTAL U WEIGHT LOSS DUE TO BURNOUT IN HANFORD REACTORS. THE EQUATION PRESENTED INCLUDES LOSS OF U-238 BY FAST FISSION AND BY NEUTRON CAPTURE AND LOSS OF U-235 BY FISSION. LOSS OF U-235 BY NEUTRON CAPTURE TO FORM U-236 IS NOT CONSIDERED A LOSS IN THIS INSTANCE.
