Determine the most effective approach to strengthening research in the field of thermal nuclear weapons. Operations Ivy and Castle; Ivy is principally directed toward establishing thermal nuclear feasibility from a purely experimental device and providing important fundamental information. Castle, however, is further directed toward a deliverable emergency weapon in addition to furnishing important information.
