Description/Abstract:
MEMO/TRIP REPORT TO CHR-RR FROM J E FARNHAM, DTD 13 JUN 75; RE: THE EXHUMATION OF ( REDACTED ), CASE NUMBER 40-004. THE MEMO RECOUNTS THE EVENTS OF THE DAY OF THE EXHUMATION. WHEN FARNHAM ARRIVED AT THE CEMETERY IN AUSTIN, HE WAITED IN THE RAIN FOR HIS POINT OF CONTACT TO ARRIVE. WHEN HE DID, TWO LABORERS ARRIVED WITH SHOVELS TO BEGIN DIGGING. THEY REACHED A WATER TABLE ABOUT 6 INCHES DOWN AND HAD TO BAIL WATER. THE CASKET HAD NO TOP OR BOTTOM AND THE DIGGERS HAD TO SIFT THROUGH MUD, GLASS AND DEBRIS TO FIND THE BONES. THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE MANDIBLE OR ANY HAND BONES. THE REMAINS WERE PACKED IN THE ZIEGLER CASE AND DELIVERED TO BRANIFF AIR LINES FOR SHIPMENT TO ARGONNE NATIONAL LABORATORY ON FLIGHT 126 ON 12 JUN 75. THE REMAINS WERE PICKED UP AT O'HARE AIRPORT AND DELIVERED TO ARGONNE.
