Description/Abstract:
A self-initiated antiaircraft missile concept was examined in two roles: airfield suppression against MIG-21 type targets, and submarine protection against ASW helicopters. It was shown that the necessary missile performance was compatible with current technology. Sensitivity of performance to parameters such as maximum seeker-head angle, missile angle of attach, and guidance mode was determined. Required tracking-head accuracy was developed.
