Description/Abstract:
THE SOUTHWESTERN RADIOLOGICAL HEALTH LABORATORY PROVIDED OFF-SITE RA DIATION SURVEILLANCE IN SUPPORT OF THE NRX-A3 EXPERIMENTS OF APRIL 23, MAY 20 AND MAY 28, 1965. THIS SUPPORT CONSISTED OF TRACKING THE EFFLU ENT, MONITORING RADIATION DOSAGE TO THE OFF-SITE POPULATION AND COLLEC TING ENVIRONMENTAL SAMPLES IN DOWNWIND AREAS. ALTHOUGH OFF-SITE CONTAM INATION OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE NRX-A3 TESTS, THE DATA COLLECTED I NDICATE THAT RADIOACTIVITY LEVELS DID NOT EXCEED THE SAFETY CRITERIA E STABLISHED BY THE ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION FOR THE OFF-SITE POPULATION .
