Description/Abstract:
THIS MEMORANDUM OUTLINES THE RADIOLOGICAL SAFETY PROCEDURES TO BE IN PLACE TO LIMIT EXPOSURE TO THE MINERS WORKING IN THE TUNNEL COMPLEX AT THE NEVADA TEST SITE. FOR EXAMPLE, PRIOR TO ENTRY INTO THE TUNNELS, WHICH ARE CONSIDERED RADIATION AREAS, ALL PERSONNEL ARE PROCESSED THROUGH THE RAD-SAFE FACILITY LOCATED AT EACH OF THE RADIATION AREAS. THIS MEMORANDUM IS A FOLLOW-ON TO THE DIVISION OF INSPECTION REPORT, DATED JANUARY 22, 1962 (CIC 104354), ON THE EXPOSURE OF MINERS IN B AND E TUNNELS FOLLOWING THE ANTLER AND CHENA EVENTS IN OPERATION NOUGAT
