Description/Abstract:
Labor Standards Commitee Case Report. Rev. 1: Install the development/test version of the Enclosed Space Detection System (ESDS) at the center traffic lane of Portal 33. Installation of the ESDS at Portal 33 will require the construction of eight pier type footings and the erection of a steel framework to which the ESDS detectors will be mounted. The ESDS signal conditioning hardware and data analysis equipment will be installed in an existing console in Bldg. 9949-78. Test and demonstrate the system. Deliverables are to include quarterly progress reports, a final report (including test results, system design documentation, and operating manual) the final hardware implementation of the system, and technology transfer documentation. 1.J. - Engineering design. 1.K. - Procurement. 4.B. - Installation of the ESDS detector requiring substantial construction. LMES Central Engineering Services (CES) will perfom the required evaluation, testing, analysis, and documentation. CES will also perform the Title II design for the installation of the ESDS development unit at Portal 33. The ESDS prototype hardware, procured by LMES, will be provided to MK-Ferguson for installation. TItle III, construction support, and project management will be performed by LMES. Construction of the concrete footings and the steel framework to support the ESDS detectors and installation of the ESDS hardware will be performed by MK-Ferguson direct hire personnel. $242,400
