Description/Abstract:
This civil preparedness guide was developed to provide information on the National Dam Safety Program for State and local officials. The guide is an overview of the Federal and non-Federal aspects of the National program and how that program can be utilized to further the safety of dams at all levels of government and in the private sector. The ultimate goal of dam safety is to enhance the safety and security of citizens, their properties, and enterprises from the threat of unsafe dams.
