Labor Standards Committee Case Report. Identify and mitigate sources of chlorinated water discharges to meet regulatory requirements. These sources mainly consist of noncontact cooling water from equipment, machinery, air conditioners, cooling towers ,etc. required to meet NPDES Permit. This work is operational and maintenance activities or very closely and directly involved therewith; and assembly, modification, installation, replacement, rearrangement, connection of machinery and equipment. A team comprised of engineering and P&E members will recommend mitigation of cooling water sources. P&E forces will perform the work which could include rerouting of drains from the storm sewer to the sanitary sewer or process waste system, installation of in-line table feeder dechlorinators or end of pipe tablet feeders, and modification to the chemical feed, blowdown, and makeup systems of cooling towers. $141,000.
