Description/Abstract:
Liquid waste disposal system at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is summarized. A description of the Tank Farm area Gunite Tanks and Settling Basin and the types of wastes handled in the Tank Farm Area are given. The discharge of waste from the Settling Basin to White Oak Creek is discussed, along with a mud sampling program in the upper part of the lake formed by White Oak Dam. The facilities for handling both metal waste solutions and chemical waste solutions and their capacities are included in tables. Provisions for miscellaneous wastes from AEC installations which contain source or fissionable material or radioactive salts are also included in the Tank Farm Area.
