Description/Abstract:
Labor Standards Committee Case Report: Close in-place underground storage tank 3042 by excavating to the top of the tank, triple rinsing the tank, filling the tank with an inert material (i.e., sand, concrete, etc.) and backfilling the excavation. Documentation required by regulations to demonstrate closure will be provided by an engineering/geotechnical subcontractor. This activity is essentially operational and maintenance activities or very closely and directly involved therewith, as well as service contact activities. See Labor Standards Case Numbers 93-0129 and 93-0131. It is proposed that the work be performed by MK-Ferguson direct hire construction forces. An engineering/geotechncial subcontractor to MMES will perform the closure documentation activities of sub-surface contamination confirmation and written reports and laboratory analyses. $210,000.
