Instrument difficulties have continued during December in pracically all phases of endeavors. Data loss on the 3 outdoor constant air monitors was down to 37 percent, of which part was due to lost time in replacement of the Trafficounters by Esterline-Angus operations meters. Wind data loss was down to 3 percent. The maximum upsurges of air activity recorded during December are tabluated from 9 percent to 10 percent of tolerance for the period December 3-29. No Ba 140 run was made during December, contributing to the low values of activity observed. Meteorological data, routine monitoring results of dam and settling basins, and Beta water counting are also discussed. A dead wildfowl found by the dam and checked for radioactivity was found to have quite respectable quantities of activity and a separate report is filed on this matter. Silting measurements have not begun. A project for electric power at White Oak Dam is in progress. The construction of a dock for more extensive river work is scheduled to be completed. The study of a slow flow area for improvement in settling out of activity is progressing.
