Description/Abstract:
This correspondence concerns the settling of UO-2 F-2 formed from UF-6 release. Density data for UO-2 F-2 was measured, and this value was used in Stoke's Law to calculate terminal settling velocity in air at 70 degrees Fahrenheit for spherical particles of several sizes. These results and Stoke's Law are included. Also, both the theoretical and experimental behavior of aerosols were examined as part of a fast-reactor study. With the information presently available, there was no way to quantify size and amount of airborn residual UO-2 F-2.
