This document is concerning a series of tests conducted by the Y-12 Health Physics Group to evaluate the health problems associated with the smelting of copper scrap which was grossly contaminated with uranium. It was found that the process was successful in purifying the metal scrap, and exposures to personnel, from a health standpoint, were well within acceptable criteria. Tables are included with results.
