Description/Abstract:
This report contains a description of the design, operation, and inventory of wastes disposed at Kerr Hollow Quarry. The operations involving waste disposal at Kerr Hollow Quarry initiated in the early 1950's, although only those activities beginning in 1961 were documented. Current plans are to continue to use the quarry for treatment and disposal of reactive metals, shock-sensitive items, and gas cylinders until replacement facilities are available. Based on information contained in waste disposal records, a data base has been established and was used to compile information for this report. A total of 98,711 pounds of waste has been delivered to the quarry for treatment or disposal. Tables and figures are also included with this report.
