Description/Abstract:
This correspondence concerns the method of assaying Ba-140. A change was suggested for the method of assay on Ba-140 in order to approach results obtained by Absolute Beta Counting Using End-Window Geiger-Mueller Counters. The method currently used gives values of only about 70 percent of the values obtained by absolute beta counting. The proposed change will simplify to some extent the method of assay and will also bring the concentration values up to what is felt to be the best obtainable at the present time.
