This document concerns the Martin Marietta Energy Systems Monthly Environmental Compliance Report, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Volume I and II. Closure was not reached on any of the complaince issues during this reporting period. Most of the issues still require action by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment (TDHE). TDHE has indicated that several of Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL) proposals for handling special wastewaters have received favorable review but a timetable for action hasn't been established. An area of continuing concern for ORNL pertains to exceedences of National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit limits for total suspended solids and oil and grease at several Category I and II Outfalls (storm drains). Efforts to identify potential corrective actions including a possible permit modification are being pursued. A brief status update of seven of the compliance issues, and a discussion of the new compliance issue, Spills and Releases (SR-4), added during this reporting period are included. Although progress was made toward resolution of several environmental management issues, none were closed during this reporting period. Also included are brief status updates for each management issue, excluding the new issues.
