Description/Abstract:
Some feed during the years of operations at the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant was recycled material obtained from spent reactor fuel and introduced appreciable quantities of radioactivity other than uranium to the site. The recycled Uranium in 1952-1964 is said to have come entirely from plutonium production reactors at the Hanford and Savannah River Sites, with the feed in later years of 1969-1974 and 1976-1977 including small portions from commercial reactors (including foreign reactors). From the early years, occasional measurements of non-uranium contaminants were made, including urinalysis from the 1950s and analysis of special air samples toward the latter years.
