Description/Abstract:
THE DONOR-ACCEPTOR MODEL OF THERMOLUMINESCENCE AS EXPLICATED BY HAGSTO N AND OTHERS, AND USED TO DESCRIBE THE LUMINESCENCE OF DIAMOND, HAS BE EN APPLIED TO THE CALICUM FLUORIDE MANGANESE DOSIMETER. WHILE THE FUND AMENTAL PROCESSES POSTULATED BY THE DONOR-ACCEPTOR MODEL DIFFER CONSID ERABLY FROM THE WELL-KNOWN RANDALL-WILKINS MODEL, MANY FORMAL SIMILARI TIES WITH IT EXIST. DETAILED NUMERICAL CALCULATIONS HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT USING THE DONOR-ACCEPTOR MODEL, AND IT APPEARS THAT THE COMBINATIO N OF EXPERIMENTAL CONSTRAINT AND GENERAL FORMAL SIMILARITY LEAD TO PRE DICTIONS THAT ARE ESSENTIALLY THE SAME AS THOSE OF THE RANDALL-WILKINS MODEL.
