Description/Abstract:
THE ELECTRODEPSITION OF THE ACTINIDES FROM AN ELECTROLYTE OF AMMONIUM CHLORIDE-HYDROCHLORIC ACID AFFORDS A RAPID METHOD FOR RECOVERING TRACE CONCENTRATIONS OF THESE ELEMENTS IN HIGH YIELD. THE PLATING PROCEDURE PRODUCES DEPOSITS WHICH ARE ADHERENT AND UNIFORMLY DISTRIBUTED OVER T HE AREA OF THE PLATE. NORMALLY, THE DEPOSITION IS CARRIED OUT FROM AN ELECTROLYTE VOLUMES OF APPROXIMATELY 5 ML. HOWEVER, VOLUMES UP TO 15 ML. HAVE BEEN USED WITHOUT GREATLY AFFECTING THE YIELDS.
