Description/Abstract:
THE VACUUM CLEANING METHOD OF REMOVING BOTH DRY AND SLURRY CONTAMINANT FROM CONCRETE AND ASPHALTIC CONCRETE SURFACES WAS STUDIED. VACUUM PI CK-UP OF DRY CONTAMINANT FROM BOTH SURFACES HAD THE SAME ORDER OF EFFE CTIVENESS AS FIREHOSING. MORE EFFECTIVE REMOVAL OF DRY CONTAMINANT WA S OBTAINED ON PROTECTIVE-COATED CONCRETE SURFACES. VACUUM PICK-UP AS TESTED WAS INEFFECTIVE IN REMOVING SLURRY CONTAMINANT.
