Description/Abstract:
THE NAVAL NUCLEAR WARFARE PROBLEM IS EXPLORED AND THE INFORMATION REQU IREMENTS FOR NAVAL OPERATIONS IN A RADIOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT ARE RELATE D TO THE CURRENT STATE OF THE ART. THE REQUIREMENTS FOR NUCLEAR DETON ATION ( NUDET ), RADIOACTIVE FALLOUT ( RADFO ) PREDICTION, AND RADIOAC TIVE MONITORING ( RADMON ) INFORMATION ARE DISCUSSED FOR OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE NAVAL OPERATIONS. A SPECIFIC EXAMPLE IS PRESENTED FOR SHIP BOARD UTILIZATION.
