Description/Abstract:
THE METEOROLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF WEATHER SITUATIONS DURING WHICH RADIOA CTIVE SAMPLES WERE COLLECTED IS DESCRIBED AND THE LIMITATIONS OF INTER PRETATION ARE DISCUSSED. IT IS SHOWN THAT PRECIPITATION WASHES OUT A S IGNIFICANT PART OF THE RADIOACTIVE PARTICLES IN THE AIR. SUCCESSIVE SA MPLES FROM WHEATHER SYSTEMS REVEALED THAT WHEN PRECIPITATION WAS PRODU CED IN THE WARM AIR MASS ONLY, THE RADIOACTIVITY IN PRECIPITATION DECR EASED WITH TIME AND WAS INDEPENDENT OF LOCATION. TO EXPLAIN THIS, A NE W WEATHER SYSTEM MODEL IS PROPOSED IN WHICH THE MAIN PART OF THE PRECI PITATION IS PRODUCED BY UNIFORM LIFTING OF A WARM AIR TONGUE.
