"THE SOLUBILITY OF IODINE-131, TELLURIUM-132, AND BARIUM-140 ASSOCIATE D WITH ARIBORNE REACTOR PARTICLES IN BOVINE DIGESTIVE FLUIDS, IN VITRO ". AIRBORNE REACTOR PARTICULATES WERE COLLECTED BY AIRCRAFT ON FILTER S DURING AND AFTER TWO XE PRIME NUCLEAR REACTOR OPERATIONS AT THE NEVA DA TEST SITE. THE SOLUBILITIES OF SELECTED RADIONUCLIDES ASSOCIATED WI TH THESE PARTICULATES WERE DETERMINED IN AN ARTIFICIAL RUMEN, FOLLOWED BY SIMULATED ABOMASAL AND INTESTINAL FLUIDS. IN SAMPLES FROM ONE REAC TOR TRIAL, THE SOLUBILITY OF IODINE-131 DURING THE ENTIRE IN VITRO DIG ESTION PERIOD VARIED BETWEEN A MINIMUM OF 41 PERCENT AND A MAXIMUM OF 49 PERCENT WHILE IN ANOTHER TRIAL THIS VARIED FROM 36 PERCENT TO 66 PERCENT. UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS THE MAXIMUM SOLUBILITY OF TELLURIUM -132 WAS 60 PERCENT IN ONE TRIAL AND 70 PERCENT IN THE OTHER FOLLOWED BY A GRADUAL DECREASE IN SOLUBILITY DURING THE DIGESTION PERIOD TO A M INIUM OF 22 PERCENT AND 39 PERCENT, RESPECTIVELY.
