Description/Abstract:
THE SOUTHWESTERN RADIOLOGICAL HEALTH LABORATORY PROVIDED OFF-SITE RADIATION SURVEILLANCE IN SUPPORT OF THE RED HOT EVENT CONDUCTED ON MARCH 5,1966. THIS SUPPORT CONSISTED PF TRACKING THE EFFLUENT, MONITORING RADIATION DOSAGE TO THE OFF-SITE POPULATION, AND COLLECTING AND ANALYZING AIR, MILK, WATER AND VEGETATION SAMPLES. SHORT LIVED FISSION PRODUCTS (I-131,I-133,I-135) WERE FOUND ON PREFILTERS AN CARTRIDGES FROM 13 AIR SAMPLING STATIONS.
